Harley and sidecar
Good post, George,
We needed a little light at the end of this tunnel.
You'll be glad you got the trees from Pete and Patty. They sure save the shoulders. Might seem a little too easy steering at first but you'll get used to them after a few miles.
Don't forget to toss that damper away.

I'd love to have a Liberty Sidecar but probably won't see that happen anytime in the near future. I'll just keep on having fun on what I've got.
Bob in Wis - I'm a member of HOG and ride with the local chapter here in S. Ill. I drive a sidecar, wear an armoured jacket (when I need a jacket), allways have a helmet on and I really don't give a rats a-- what the other harley riders think.

way to go, D..lot better attitude then many others...

I've read your posts for some time now. You are just another Harley Basher with no point.
Blah, blah, blah.
we've read yours also..seems you dont realize there are OTHER brands of bikes and SC's out there..that is my my point.
you need to lighten up and see the other's side also.
Uh, it would appear that statements made by others are being attributed to me. Calling me a HD basher woudl be a pretty crazy acusation.
I currently have 3 Harleys, a new style Street(V) Rod, a Road King and an older flathead 750 (40s vintage).I really like Harleys, but will admit the "culture" is overpowering at time.
I considered a Liberty for my King, but decided to pass due to a number of reasons, none of which had anything to do with Liberty (bike had a lot of miles, etc). Never really thought about using a Harley SC, although the reasons given earlier (resale in particular) seem like pretty good points.
I am using a Wing on my next rig, too many advantages to pass up, for what I plan to use it for. Sure wish Harley would come out with an 1800 -2000 cc water cooled engine, 150+hp, 150+ pounds of torque, 6 speeds, reverse, belt drive, etc. Dreams are free.
I like studebakers. That little flathead champion six cylinder was the best engine ever made. Body style was excellent even though some looked like they were going backeards.

I thought you liked left sided side cars.
Claude,
Hard to beat their old 259 (Hemi) V8's. Just about bullet proof. I used to put them in MG TD's with the 26% OD trans and a jeep toploader (Johnson bar) stick shift. Surprised a lot of Porsche's and Vette's. A little front heavy on an Autocross or road circuit though. Great in the 1/8th or 1/4 drags though.

Greg,
Left handed? No, but if you bring that V Stom rig out here we can convert it over for it's trip to the UK.
Lonnie,
Put a 283 (really 292) into an Austin Healy once. Firewall had to be modified a lot and the distributor access was a trip. I will admit it was a little front heavy also. Did great in the twisites but you had to really pitch it into the turns to keep it from pushing(understeering). Probably would have been a popular rig for what is called drifting today.
Whew..talk about hyjacking a thread....lol
