Merry Christmas!

This is my first post on this forum and I look forward to participating in the future.

I am looking to have a sidecar installed on my 2012 Triumph Rocket 3 Roadster as soon as possible and have contact a few manufacturers and installers but I want to peruse the various forums before taking the plunge and this looks like a good place to start.

My first and only sidecar was a deluxe all steel URAL on a new 1981 Yamaha XS1100 and the combination was at least to me, superb. We had it for a few years and I missed it almost immediately after I sold it.

I feel the BIG and POWERFUL Rocket 3 will be a good choice to power whatever sidecar I end up with.

I have been riding since 1962, when I received my Motorcycle endorsement and have ridden since that time, currently have the Rocket and a 2012 Suzuki Burgman 650 Executive. The R3r is my 79th bike.

I would appreciate any and all suggestions from you seasoned hack riders!

Sam 🙂

Bruce, I'm in Carthage, MO, right at the Interstate 44 and 49 juncture.

Sal, 1981 was a long time ago (Yesterday for us old Farts) so I don't have any pictures.

****** I have contacted several Sidecar retailors and installers by email and by phone and no one really seems interested in contacting me---weird! Maybe it's because of the Holidays.

Sam 🙂

Sam, welcome to the small world of sidecars, again. Yes, holidays are important for us old timers to spend with family and young'uns. Even the vendors are small companies with families. Rest assured they will get back to you when they reopen their offices. Every one of them are great helpful people willing to offer advice and guidance to anyone interested in hacking their scoot.

That Rocket 3 will make a great long distance tug for most any heavier weight sidecar, just avoid hanging a lightweight one on the R3.

Get your rig together and come on out to the USCA Rally in Colorado in July. Might even see a few other Rocket's with sidecars.

I will start another thread to ask some more opinions.

Again, thanks:)

Welcome, and apologies for no response.

Whenever the rain exceeds 1"/hour, our internet at home drops out, and it's been raining like that on and off since the 24.

We did just go through a good one, 4.5" in two hours.

'Tis the season, nothing unusual, but havok on transportation of any sort.

Since you indicated you have already tried to contact a few manufacturers and installers you may have already tried Claude Stanley at http://www.freedomsidecars.com/.
If you didn't get a response try again since he is very well respected and has a Rocket 3 as his personal sidecar or did recently.
