Could this be changed? It seems that if I want to reply to more than one thread I need to get another cup of coffee and play a game of solitaire while waiting - just joking as I can read other threads - but it does seem a bit long to me.

Or am I just being really picky?

Love the site though

It can be very slow, especially on DIALUP! I've gotten in the habit of clicking to 'Delete Temporary Files' even during a website session because many times the accumulated cookies and garbage stumble the machine. Might also be time to Defrag your computer? I use the IOBIT Smart Defrag, very quick and easy. I also block all 3rd Party cookies from all sites as they're all advertising or tracking cookies and really slow you down. I only allow 1st Party Cookies from trusted websites that I absolutely must allow in order to post.

Steve, I rarely bump into the flood control, mainly because I type real slow. It was set up few years ago after phishers severely jammed our forum. I'm not sure of the settings, but they seem prevent the unwanted mass intrusions.

It's not my computer as I keep it cleaned and defragged weekly. Plus my good buddy has done some tricks to it - I do understand the rationale for it and can live with it easily. Just thought I'd see if it was possible to decrease the wait time.

When I do get on I get on after several days and then get excited to answer, or post, to several threads and that's when it becomes a bit of a pain - -

No worries on my part - just askin - 🙂

Sorry about that, I completely misunderstood. That's not altogether a rare thing either.

Flood control is accomplished by dams.
Dammit, it won't take my post, dammit it still won't take my post, Oh, there, it took my post.

Global flood limit in minutes is set to 4. I'm sure we don't want to turn it off but I will try to reduce it a bit.

Reduce it a lot! I often do not responed to posts as I at time have better things to do then wait 4 minutes to post.

I do not like it but understand why they need it so I just make the best of it. OOPS there it goes again.

I set it to 2 minutes. See if that helps and watch out for the spam bots. Be sure and email me.
