Hi guys, I finally got around to doing a small solo camp on my rig. This is the first time since losing my leg in 09 that I camped solo. The trip went great except for the heat. 97 deg.

A hint for you, When the corn beef hash is almost done is the time to use a spoon and make a couple of depressions in it and crack eggs into them. Let the corned beef cook your eggs for you. Preferably a glass lid over the pot so you can see when they are done to your liking.

Same breakfast I would have, except I go for hash browns and eggs. Glad you are out and about, makes me want to get out more.

Good way to get "warmed up" for a longer trip come cooler weather.

I put some eggs in I just covered them with more hash. came out great. I can't wait to do a fall campout when it's cooler and the leaves are turning. Smile Rich sorry to hear your an rak I'm lak, but your right about anything being possible. The best thing I ever did since my accident was build my rig, it kind of healed me doing it. I'm sure you know what I mean.

I have also learned to make oatmeal edible.
Do not cook it in water. Boil cranberry juice with strawberries then add the oat meal and stir while turning off the heat.
This works for minute oatmeal.
If you are a sweet fiend, add honey, not sugar.
This is much better that the usual wallpaper paste oatmeal.

To make this a whole breakfast, first boil water. Then add three eggs and boil for only 5 minutes.
Put the eggs immediately in cold water.
Do the oatmeal as above.
Peel and drop eggs into oatmeal.
I eat this often even at home.

Good to hear it worked out well. Here it is 97 or more it is not the heat that is so bad it is the high humidity which low here is 80%. Nice looking rig and camp set up.

That K lever set up that 46 u posted looks like the ticket for you Mike. The first year is the toughest but as time goes on you'll adjust and keep taking more and more of your old life back. I'm about 3 1/2 years into my amputation and it is getting better all the time. Pm me if you ever have any questions about life as an amp, there's a lot of support out there.

Thanks newenglandjim looking for all the options I can find. I think I'm going to go with putting the break pedal on the left side for the Harley but I want to get a Quad and may use something like the K2 on that.

I worked as a prosthetic tech and loved the work. Up in Minnesota I knew a guy who had a Rickman 750 Enfield with the rear brake and gearshift on the same side, and a kick starter of course. Don't be shy about modifying the Sporty or your leg to make riding better...if your amputation is above the knee, you can screw your map holder on to the leg.
Don't get a quad, those have too many wheels. Driving a sidecar, and getting really good at it, is a good skill that you can be proud of.
