I got a reply from Unit Link. However, all it said was " you cannot ride solo with our forks". They didn't address specifically the questions I had asked. Not sure if they just don't care, dont want to be bothered, or maybe business is so good..........Just thought i would pass this on.

I asked the question and the reply was as I thought, the rear holes are for jigging purposes.
As for the reply Greg received,if I was a manufacturer that is just the sort of reply I would give as it is not open to any sort of interpretation.
I got a very similar reply when I asked BMW could I fit a sidecar to one of their bikes.
If you think the rear holes could be used I would guess you would be on your own if there was a failure.
Product liability is currently a minefield over here and has led to some pretty strange warning labels on various products.
