California is just a brand name. Do an internet search for sidecar and you'll find dozens of brands. What do you plan to pull it with? One passenger? two? Cargo only? Highway only? in town only? scooter? Give us some details and we'll give you more advice than you want. :0)

Joyce,
Great link, you can spend hours there... 🙂

Ryan,
Like Mike said, need details... What do you have for a motorcyle, what do you want to do with the hack etc...

These folks are great for info...

Also, use the Google "Images" Button and type in sidecar... get a beer first... 😉

You might start with checking with the companies that help support this site with addvertizments such as my company Dauntless Motors Corporation
www.dauntlessmotors.com
If you click on the pop up adds they will link you to the web sites for the companies.
If you find a company that is not helping support the club and its web site you might ask them why not?

Good point, Jay. We should all remember that the advertisers here help to keep this site up and running, even for those of us who are not dues paying USCA members. When we were setting this up there were suggestions made that this be a password protected forum open to paid members only.

There are many sidecar related sites on the web. This one, sidecar.com, and SCT Home of the Internet Sidecar Owners Klub http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/SCT/
are probably the most active. The SKUNK (SideKars Up Nort Klub) site is a lot of fun and quite active too. There are some more area specific sites too that are kinda neat as they localise the sidecarists etc. (sEE LINKS BELOW)
tHERE ARE ALSO BRAND SPRECIFIC SIDECAR SITES WITH THE WAGNERS YAHOO SITE BEING VERY ACTIVE IN THE URAL WORLD.
Below are some of the other sites to check out....have fun you are in 'good' company 🙂

Here are a couple of newer sites:

The first site is called '''HPSidecar''' and is decribed as "An
international forum created primarily for technical discussion
regarding modern performance oriented road going sidecars"
HPSidecar authority and overall good guy Bill Ballou along with
Roger Symington and others have put a lot of effort in getting this
site online.
Check it out by clicking here:

The following site by longtime sidecarist and dual sport
good guy ,Vernon Wade (The Red Menace),is called '''ADVENTURE
SIDECAR'' . Check it out, Vernon has some big plans cooking for the
future !

For vintage-looking SCs, I like the British Unit, Aussie Dusting (now sold by Premiere), and Steib, sold here be a couple of companies- mainly Blue Moon. Watsonian-Squire also has some hacks that have a solid tradition.

Most people seem to like the bigger cruisers, though.

Ryan,

I had this same question a few months ago. I talked to many dealers/manufactures and decided to go with Hannigan's Sidecars out of Kentucky. For me, the Hannigan sidecar and installation cannot be beat. There turn around time is excellent and have excellent support. You may want to give them a shot.
