Hey there- Could swear I saw Tom Reardon a couple times while in Death Valley this weekend- Was that you? Sorry, everytime I saw you, I was on the way to this or that and didn't get a chance to say hello!

Had a great time! Even did the infamous Lippincott Trail! WOW! I'm claiming bragging rights on that one for sure!

Anybody else there from 'here?'

I live in Barstow, Death Valley is just a stone throw away, I love riding there. I did a Midnight run thru Death Valley last year alone, full Moon, Thunder Storm to the east moving my way, just breath taking.

That being said, I'd like others to join me, again.

Dave

Wasn't me. Wish I was there, it'd be warm enough to ride!

Came out on the Bishop end in '03 on Hallowe'en and into one of the earliest blizzards in the Sierras. Snowed 27" in South Tahoe (the way we were headed) that night for a new 24 hour record.
I much prefer the Valley in July or August when it's 120 degrees or so. You know, "Comfortable" putting weather.

I wandered around the campground on multiple occasions checking out all the solo bikes and the many Urals. Got to meet "Cob" while he was working on the final stages of resolving a burnt piston.

Don't *think* I look like Tom, but who knows?

It sure was a great weekend - warm (ish) and sunny.

Hey Dave, did I ride to the SlashX with you a couple weeks ago" ? I was on a BMW 12GS. You, if it was you, were on, of all things, a deisel powered hack. Eother way, perhaps we can hook up.

Doh! I am a dork- it was you, Steve! Recognized your great grin, but I got the name wrong! Did you get in any riding? If so, where all did you go?

I also met Mr Cob, he had finished the piston install and was riding around camp. Must say, what the heck kinda riding do you do to blow a piston?!? The man is an animal, and I mean that in a good way!

BTW, anybody see that yellow rig, with the car tire on the tub? It was purdy, and I just wondered what it was. : )

If anyone is interested, I will have a ride report posted on ADV rider pretty soon. I will post a link...

I did talk to the guy with the yellow rig. It was a K on the power side. Driven by a guy from Arizona. One of the SEATS crowd (South East Arizona Touring Society, I think) Owned by a guy in PA. Center hub steering. It tub wasn't a common brand. No camera of course - I was there as a civilian!

Had a great ride down from Santa Cruz and parked the bike on arrival Friday afternoon. Didn't touch it until we left on Sunday. Too much fun hanging out and enjoying the sun. Great ride back to SC too. The rain was intermitent...

Excellent! Great photos. My In-laws used to love Death Valley, especially my Father in Law. Somewhere stored away we've got boxes of the photos he took there. Many like your's except no motorcycles! They're both gone now but the memories live on...

Great stuff! Makes me wish for one of my own, but trucking from Seattle would have been a bit too much...
