Damper - PLEASE HELP
That must be it, I was in chrome.
On my Goldwing with Hannigan Astro:
I have a death fear of front end wobble, This from close contact long ago with a road far, far away. With that as back ground.
I ride both with and without a damper. My rig is set up so that it has very very little wobble. The key being to take the time and work slowly adjusting and readjusting until there is only a very minor or no amount of wobble. It can be done. Toe in, toe out, head bearing and then readjust.
As some have said the VW damper requires a good amount of extra muscle when riding around town. I never use my damper for short trips but for the long haul, cross country freeway I like having the Damper to "track the road" giving my hands and arms a bit of a brake. I can "on and off" the damper in less than 10 minutes using a 9/16" wrench.
