Come on Dunlop:
Got a new flyer from J&P cycles in the mail, and after looking at all the chrome geegaws, saw that Dunlop has come out with a line of 15 &16" tires for trikes. Problem is all are 205x65x15 or 16" size .SO come on Dunlop-- how about making some in a 130x90x16" for some of us who can't afford or don't want a new overpriced bike?? (maybe a write in campaign) lol- and lots of luck! Does have a nice car tire looking tread on it.
Can we forvard a letter to Dunlop with signatures of lot of customers who will buy 130x90x16" tires with car profile for use on sidecar rigs. May be we can get same letters from Canadian, European and other sidecarists? When they (Dunlop) can see enough buyers they may be make those tires. Also if Dunlop is too big to do this may be some smaller tire company will do it...
Good luck with that. It won't happen!
We hackers are the gnat on the elephants' back ratio wise. The big push these days for three wheel motorcycles is the trike contingent and they can use mostly car tires. No large market share= no R&D outlay. Economics 101

I don't think a 205 X anything will fit on my 2004 HD....there's not much room in there. Besides, changing tires every 6-7K miles is good exercise. It gives you a nice interval to examine your brake pads anyway. LOL.

Seems Dunlop would have developed a pusher tire for the HD rigs, especially as a number of rigs were in police service. Likely too late now.

Well, I agree that it would have been a nice thought. However, you are probably also awarte that companies such as Dunlop have to do great volume to justify the cost fo the dies and other necessary tooling for a specific tire. They need to make them by the tens of thousands to be cost effective.
I'm sure that you will agree that sidecars are a niche market. Love them as we do, there are not all that many of them around.
