Measure the actual diameter of the wheel with tire mounted. Possibly a lower profile tire can be the answer to clearace issues. If clearance is still an issue in some cases one can raise the whole body and fender slightly with blocks under the body mounts.

Thanks Lonnie, that helped. I am new at this sidecar deal, and tend to worry about a lot. Especially when the initial hookup came loose and I tried cross country riding in the city.

From about late 2004 and up the Velorex Cruiser and Tour models have frame mounted fenders. They no longer bolt through the body.
The fender can be mounted higher (or changed) without disturbing the body mounts.

Lonnie, Did not you mean going from a 16" wheel to a 17" would raise the car 1/2", since the height change is only from axle out.
