For anybody out there that has tried this out: I have a 4/4 cello in a hard case (large AND fragile) and I want to know if theres a sidecar that will fit this comfortably, maybe with the help of some bungee cords or something. Any experience with this?

In general, I am looking for a sidecar that is relatively tall in the back, with a removable seat so maybe I can wedge the cello in diagonally and have it fit all the way to the bottom. Cello cases are large: I'm 5'4", and when it's standing up it goes a little below my chin. I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN DONE but any advice on a sidecar is MARVELOUS. if you know anybody who has done it ASK THEM FOR ME!!! thank you!!!!!

ps if you know somethign about sidecars but not about cellos you can look up pictures of cellos and cello cases online to get an idea for their dimensions.

Well that is a new request for sure :-).
We have built different bodies for sidecars but never one for a cello. Would be glad to do so if you wish. Can do the whole thing from frame up or possibly adapt a purpose built body to an exisitng sidecar frame. Where are you located? Feel free to call during the day at 570 765 8310 or evenings at 570 837 5182. or email cstanley at sunlink.net.

Hmmm - should be sweet music! wonder about a Velorex 700. Certainly has the high back, but will it be gentle enough?

Another possible solution would be a URAL utility (flat bed) sidecar. Gosh knows it would be sturdy, and if further worries sbout ride became apparent, one could easily add a layer of foam/padding to bed of car.
