Care to elaborate? If that is his sidecar, than I humbly stand corrected ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm sorry, I guess I forget that not everybody has been around these things since Santa was a skinny kid with a pony tail. Doug Bingham is an old sidecar racer who owns a company called Sidestrider. http://www.sidestrider.com He sells a number of brands, is the U.S. importer for Watsonian, and does build custom sidecars like the one pictured. He also sponsors the Griffith Park Rally in October in California and is often at the Anamosa Rally in Iowa.
I first met him at Leguna Seca in 1974 and next saw him at Anamosa in 2006. He is just as passionate about sidecars today as he was when I first met him.

broncorckcrwlr,
Let see, you are in Kentucky............ I would get to Hannigan's as fast as you can. Your best bang for the buck is right there!
Hannigan's engineering, craftsmanship and after sale support is superb. You can see I consider my KLT a 10 in every way.
I second all the positive comments above and offer them as reasons to "Get to Hannigan".

I also have a Hannigan Classic sidecar on my V- Star 1100 Classic.
I have tha electric lean option as well as the disc brake. I also have
Steerite modified triple trees. You certainly can't go wrong with
Hannigan. They are wonderful people to deal with and have a first rate
product. Dave Keesee does a great job of installing the sidecars, I don't
think you will be disappointed.

I piloted a Hannigan Astro 2+2 over 70,000 miles in 5 years attached to a 1993 Goldwing. With the electric lean I could out corner most of the bikes I toured with. The sidecar brake made my rig stop straight and true every time. I had installed a raked triple tree so that it would take less input on the handle bars to steer. My son is now old enough to ride on the back of our bikes so I sold the rig last year. If I were to go with another side car rig it would be Hannigan!
I also had a bad experience with the folks at Motorvation. If I treated my customers the way they treated me I wouldnโ€™t be in business very long. I should have known better when they started talking about the law suits that they were involved in. nuff said

We've run into a small snag. I had my bike lowered 2 inches several years ago because of my short legs. Looks like I may have to shell out some unexpected $$$ to raise it back up. The wife is not happy. She suggested we just sell the bike and forget the whole thing. See, we are in our middle 50s and are raising 2 grandsons ages 7 & 3. I'm not complaining, they are truly a blessing but we didn't have them when we bought the bike and started taking weekend trips. The bike has pretty much sat in the garage for the last 4 plus years so we discussed either getting rid of it or adding a sidecar so we could take the boys along and decided to get the sidecar. It's turned out to be a little more pricy than we originally expected and now this. She's just ticked because every time we start to do something it seems to always cost more than we thought it would before hand. Hopefully she will cool down by next weekend when we are supposed to go look at the sidecars. If she actually gets to sit in one and look at them and drool over them, oh wait that's me, any way you get the idea. Keep your fingers crossed.

Hey TCat:
Did you get those icicles on your rig when that last terrible ice storm went through KY knocking out all the electricity? .. Very nice looking rig.. I see you are running handlebar gauntlets and a tour tank. Me too. Aren't they great!
Ride safe, stay warm.
GP

The icicles occurred in February of 2008 when I went up to Murray to meet Dave and bring the rig back to Texas. It iced and sleeted while I was there and the photo was taken on the day I left for Texas. The gauntlets came off after about 30 minutes on the road in favor of gloves. I just couldn't get used to them but I love the Tour Tank! That's the 4 gallon model. I missed the most recent weather by about a year.

TCat;
I have the 3 gal. tank. Gives me a range of at least 200 miles.. Would never give it up. LOL
Judging by the icicles on the 2008 storm - I bet you are glad to have avoided the 2009 one.
good riding to you, gp

broncorckcrwlr, where are you located? I'm In Dover, TN, about an hour (give or take) south of Hannigan's shop.

I have a Hannigan classic myself. Very pleased with it.

I'm in London, Ky about 1.5 hrs north of Knoxville up I 75. I've got the wife interested again (whew) and we are going over to Hannigans to look around and talk to them this weekend. I'm pretty sure after she sees a few and sits in one with the grandsons she'll be sold. We're taking the boys along and they should be a big help to papaw in talking her into it. :>)

edit to add that you have a nice looking rig!
