Sorry for your loss Tom. We met you and Archie at Chelan last spring and I could see the bond between the two of you.......... R.I.P Archie.
I feel your pain, lost our 7 year old boxer 4 weeks ago today. Best dog we ever had and we've had some great dogs !!!! Wife wants another but I don't want to go thru the pain again, maybe someday I'll change my mind.
So sorry for your loss.
Sorry to hear that. What happened? 7 is way too young to go! Archie had a few challenges in his life time that could have taken him. A bad cut all the way to the skull when he was about 3, then last November the FCE. I'm so grateful we had the time we did together. Lots of good years and many miles of travels together. But a few more years sure would have been good...
Sorry you lost Archie, Tom but I'm sure you will find another dog that will love to ride in your hack. I know you can't replace Archie but I believe you will have another riding buddy again in the future. Ride Safe. Archie ride forever and Tom will meet you at Rainbow Bridge some day and you will be together forever. http://rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm
Time will tell. I'm not activly searching for another pup. Not yet anyhow...
God Bless you Tom I know it's got to be rough. They wind up being like our children and even best friends. Sorry for your loss. My pastor says he's pretty sure dogs go to heaven!
Tom, we are so sorry to hear about the passing of Archie. I'm glad we got to share in his last ride together from John Day.
Ralph, Peggy and Mindy
Thanks Ralph and Peggy. That was a great rally and a most excellent ride on the return trip. You two are good people to travel with for sure and Arch and Mindy sure got along well...
So sorry for your loss.
I lost a couple dogs a couple years ago and now just have my 10 year old Weimy. He is the reason I got a side car rig. He rides with me all the time in my 4 wheelers and would bark and raise a ruckus when I rode my two wheelers so I got the sidecar just for him (I didn't know it would be so much fun to ride).
I think losing a dog is so hard because unlike people, most of them don't have any bad intentions. They just go through life with only basic needs and give you unconditional love.
I'm sure you will miss Archie tremendously but as they say, time really does heal all wounds and while you will never got over the loss, the pain will eventually be replaced with all those great memories and you will smile when you think of him.
