Greetings from Summer Grove (Shreveport) Louisiana. We're considering adding a sidecar to our 2002 HD 883R Sportster, having narrowed the potential rigs to either a 563 Velorex or a Texas Sidecar, having concluded a Cozy would be a little too small. We welcome any comments on the proposed combination. However, before making a final decision, we would like to discuss sidecaring in general with folks with experience. If anyone in the Ark-La-Tex area would welcome some conversation, we'd appreciate the opportunity. Thanks for your insight.

Oh yeah - The USCA has state reps in all three of your states.

Check here: http://www.sidecar.com/themap.asp

Good hunting!

in your area of north Louisiana, Carl Silverstein lives in Keithville, his phone is 318 925 6036 and his email (hope my memory is right) mcrider@att.net. Also, Bud Amy of Port Barre, La., (my riding buddy) is state Rep. for USCA, he is retired and would welcome a call and is quite knowledgeable all around about sidecars as is Carl, in fact Carl knows more about sidecars than anyone in Lousiiana that I know of. Except me, I am the VERY best, anyway my phone is 318 793 9566

Thanks Carney, I will contact Carl first. I remember meeting him several years ago, but had forgotten he was in our area now. I'm sure Carl can get me started in the right direction. I'll let y'all know what we decide, that is, if I can convince the wife re: a sidecar.

Thanks again,

GREETING FROM LAFAYETTE, LA. AREA. I moved here after KATRINA ran me out of ST.BERNARD.I have 2 moto guzzis, a 96cal and a 04 stone.been riding for 50 years never had an incident till now. I ran into 3 mail boxes while making a turn around on a country road. 7 stiches in my hand. It was a long ride back home, then the hospital trip. I kind of lost confidence an think its time for a side car, 3 wheelers are to much for my budget. Bad back , 3 herniated discs, guess I should not be riding but screw it I need some fun and relaxation, 2 wheel type. So what can I get for less than $5000.?I like the BMW STUEBS type cars. What about the reproduction STUEBS??? Any suggestions??? THANKS FOR YOUR REPLYS

Hi Curley: Refer to the contacts above in earlier posts for Bud, Carney & Carl. I've found these fellows have lots of experience and good advice. My search has shown that two good options for a mid-size bike are a Velorex installed by Perry in Ft. Worth (www.perrysmotorcycels.com) and a Texas Sidecar (www.texassidecars.com). Both companies have been highly recommended.

THANKS SWAMPFOX sounds like good advice. Is it necessary to have someone set up your bike side /car? What about looking for a used side car and buying the mounts that fit your bike? I'll ask the above mentioned guys above.
