I just got back from droping off and picking up bikes in California for sidecar work. So I am a bit late on answering this. The Savage is a bit under powered as 650's go but will work. The Velorex would be an ok match on this bike. The main down tube is a bit larger then the Velorex clamps work with, we make larger clamps. I have seen a velorex mounted with the "universal" mounts done by a sidecar shop. Every time the owner rode the bike the mounts slipped. Bike specific mounts work out much better. We do not make a kit for this bike. We have new sidecars starting at $2495 for the Kenna and have one used California sidecar that I just picked up this trip so have not done a saftey inspection on it yet. It should be for sale in a week or so.
Let me know if we can be of any help. We will be back down your way with the truck picking up and droping off more bikes in 4-6 weeks.

Hi Jay,

Do you have more info about the California sidecar, model, year, etc.? How does it fit on the 2004 Honda Shadow Aero 750?

Thanks.

The sidecar is a freindship 1 with the old style suspention. It has a top that is original in fair shape, The windsheild is in fair but not great shape. Paint is poor. We will be replacing the suspention bushing and mounting a new tire on it and sell it for $1350. It is set up with 5/8 inch hiem joints on the bottom. We do not have mounts for your 750 honda.
It will be a few weeks before we can do any thing with it. We are swamped with work and have not had much luck finding good help.

Either the Ural or the Dnepr would be a great match for the Aero. The retro look would really fit on it.
The Ural is finished nicer than the Dnepr, and my riders all claim it rides a lot smoother, but the Dnepr tonneau cover is better made and fits tighter. This weekend I put on about 500 miles, nearly half in driving rain. The opening trunk on the Ural had about 2 inches of water in it when I reached my destination. That never happened with the Dnepr but the Dnepr was a pain to load and unload behind the seat. My passengers claim the Ural has less legroom, but I think that's only because the Ural seat has heavier padding.
I've been riding sidecars for nearly 30 years now and if I were to set up a first rig for someone I cared about it would probably be a water cooled bike between 500 and 900 cc's and it would have a Ural, Dnepr, or Flying Tiger sidecar. Next choices would be a CJ or Sputnik. Just my opinion.

Sidecar Mike.... how come your sidecar is dipping down at the front end? Did you mount it that way? I just sold a Ural and the Ural sidecar is mounted level front to back.

I took this photo the day I mounted it and before any alignment was done.
Was yours mounted on a Valkyrie?
Mine still dips a bit in front because the lower front mount is under the right cylinder, but not nearly this much.

I had a 1998 Ural Decco, so the sidecar of course came with the bike.

I am in the process of having a Ural installed on my Harley Ultra. I have about a 6 week wait befor it gets hung on the bike. (I'm using a pro to install it.) If you can wait that long for a report, I'll be glad to give one. I'm getting the Ural because it will be easy for my wife to get in and out of.

The pro is not in Phoenix. I'm geting the hack & having it installed by Dauntless, in the Seattle Wa. area. I,m told by all the locals that they are one of the best on the west coast. Also they are the west coast Ural dealers.
