Hi Smity. I like that trailer. What is the name of the manufacturer?   When it comes to trailers there are 1,000 manufacturers. That's good and bad. More good I think. I drive an SUV. I wasn't sure what you can hook up to SUVs.

Thank you in advance. : )

The trailer is a Bear track. As for what you can and can not pull with a SUV on your owners manual can tell you. So many that you would think can pull a trailer can not. And even in the same models minor difference mean the difference of pulling 2,000 or 3,500  Lbs. This is wear light weight trailers really help. That trailer weight 450Lbs. With the Rig and all they gear I want on the trailer I am still only at 1895 total including the trailer.

Is your Edge the Ecoboost or V6.  Also AWD or FWD?  (can't tell from the pic)  I've been concerned about installing a hitch onto my '13 Ecoboost FWD and overloading the transmission even with a small lightweight trailer/load.

Read your owner's manual. My 4 cyl. outback says it is rated for 2700 Lbs. It easily hauls my Aluma MC-10 with an '06 Goldwing on it. My only concern was hitch weight so I bought a tongue scale to make sure I was good.

I have the 3.7  AWD well with in my towing ability. With any model now day you have to check all the box to know what you can and can't tow.

I did over size the hitch because I like the way it mounted better. Sitting at about 200 pounds tongue weight right now I can shift that either way with ease.  What testing I have dine it pulls well.

Some had ask about the trailer and hauling the rig. Here it is.

Total weight of the trailer, rig and all We put on the trailer including Payton's wheel chair 2,200 pounds. The part of this trip we used the trailer was 2,000 miles all but 50 miles was fully loaded with trailer.  It pulled great in the mountains and the flats. never was short on power. Two really good rain storms no problem. Speeds were often highway speed and due to traffic some serious 75-80 mph in KY. Average was 16.5 mph round trip. IMO not bad for the mountain roads we were on.

I could not be happier with the trailer or the experience. The Better built tool box is something I hope to find a better built one. Darn lid kept popping open nothing solved it even locking it . So I put a strap on it.  to be on the safe side a basic transmission cooler was installed. To make sure it was 100% legal I moved the license plate from the fender to the rear. The idea we came up with worked fine. I did need to apply some nonskid to the trail under the area the rear bike tire sits to help get out of wheel chock when the trailer is wet. Problem solved. Loading or unloading alone was never an issue.

This trip I carried a fair amount of tools and with 4 people some of the baggage went in the tool box along with a complete set of spare straps and Payton's wheel chair. If not for that the load would have been 200 lbs lighter. 4 straps held the Rig secure and it never moved on the roughest roads.

I said it was a 3.7. That was wrong it is the 3.5 in the 2017. Without towing package. The Trans cooler I had installed was just to be safe. Parts and labor $500 Cheap insurance.

With Wife and two grandchildren this trailer mad the trip possible, worth every penny.
