A GS/Sidecar/Dog and myself and a lifelong road trip
Been away for a while... getting ready for my life on the road... the logistics have been intense, very different than 6 months a year traveling... This time I have nothing to come back to... and... I have to admit... feeling this freedom is incredible...
All is in my Blog...

Bon Chance and remind us once in a while to check out your site!
Beemer,
As you may recall, I'm part of what I loveingly call the "French Chef Gang." Actually we're named Les Routards. I'm going to pass on your site to some of the members and --- please -- if your travels get as far north as the Chicago area, let me know and I'll try to hook us all up.
Sidecar Ron
Hi Ron and thanks for the recall... the grey matters up there sometimes are failing... lately anyhow...
I probably will be in your area next summer... and will definitely hook up...
Thanks for the reminder... Ara
Ara, I just read your today post regarding the cause of your "off-road adventure." Guess it should be required reading for all those using Dauntless products.
See ya when you get north next summer.
Sidecar Ron
Are you going to be in the western part of Colorado at any time? Would love to meet up with you if you areRon in Grand Junction Co.

I will be there sometime this next summer... Colorado is one of my favorite State, will just have to avoid Denver itself... the Pit Bull ban is very much in effect there! Much camping there... great passes to ride... Will stay in touch... Thanks. Ara
And by the way, it seems that jay is not happy... he has come to the same conclusion that the upper mount was not flush against my engine... really? But blaming MY BIKE!!!... and has offered to send me a new part... Should I?...
Chef....
Welcome to the "I love Dauntless" club. I know of no one, and I know of 4, who have bought sub-frames from Dauntless and have had problems. I am enjoying your blog, and your story, but I don't know if I went deep enough to know why you chucked it all to ride. I think it is a great ides, but my wife won't let me leave with the dog. Ride an R1200C with Champion Escort. 24K in the last two years. Just did a 2.4K from Miami to NC, TN and VA. Great trip! Have to work, so those are but fading memories. Still ride every weekend and almost every day to work and for work. My Dauntless sub-frame was the wrong parts for half of it also, but we finally got the right parts and now it seems ok. I do check the connections perodically, and all seems to be well. If you get down to south Florida, let us know, as we do ride.
Ubermon aka Jim Van der Veen
Hi Jim... can I call you Jim?... Yes... the Jay Dauntless Ural group or just about anything that comes out of that shop fan group!!!
I winder why... owners of the same combo... TwinTwin... David... myself... and who else out there that I don't know about... cannot bleed the brakes!!!... hundreds of dollars and still NO CAR BRAKE... Disc brake that is... of course unless you are quick with the foot pumping! Practicing my fox trot...
But... this thread is more about a great ride that I took today... as my days in Louisiana are coming to and end... for now anyhow... Texas is next!

I think the links I have posted below are live ones so you just have to click on them. The first one is Ara's Blog. It is good reading. The second, hopefully live link, is to Ara's smugmug site. When you get there go to the upper right top of page and click on 'Journal'. It is in the block called 'style'. If you do that you will see Ara's journal plus some great pictures. http://www.theoasisofmysoul.typepad.com/http://beemerchef.smugmug.com/gallery/2234653
For some reason I cannot seperate sentences etc on thsi site any more. The above links should have been live if it wasn't for that. I will post them seperately and see what happens,..,..ugh
