1st 1000 mile trip...=)~
WOW...1 year later of being a new owner of a HD rig and some friends and I rode a local fundraiser.
1000 miles in 24 hrs. overall a nice ride , I ran out of gas on first tank at an early mileage still not
sure why, hard winds is a guess as I was the only hacker in the group, bike still pulls to the right a
little...but all in all I enjoyed being able to get out and really get a feal for the open road with a wart
attached to the side of my bike...lol. Especially when the lead guy we were following decided to
brake the law and for 4 miles we road the shoulder to avoid backed up traffic from a blacktopping
crew (at this time of the day the heat of the day was at 94) And of course there was a 2 hr down
pour of rain at the end of the ride to assure me of how non-water proof the snap on cover for the sc is.
But the main thing is being a newbie I have another 1000 miles under my belt and a little wiser on handling...=)
I was very impressed with the handling of my hack in the rain, rain deep enough on the streets that we were making wakes with the front tire, nary a wiggle, I'd have gone to a sidecar a long time ago if I had known how well they handle in inclement weather. I dropped a bike in a major ice storm and slid about 50-60 yards sitting on the tank as I slid through the interstate exit of I 225 and Colfax Ave. in Aurora Colorado at rush hour.
Doc

Congratulations on the 1,000 mile ride, ophi. Quite an accomplishment on a sidecar rig --- and out of my reach.
