Hi B-roadglide,
I PM'd you rather than post a lengthy reply here.... I know exactly what you're saying about your Rocky and I agree with you and the others about it being a quality of life thing not the expense. That's what I meant in the previous post where I started off talking about our old Penny...

He's doing much better. He's probably 80% back to normal. Still very weak in the hind quarters but at least he's up and walking on all four and much, much better than he was two weeks ago. We're both much happier now.... Thanks so much for asking and thanks to everyone for the good wishes and prayers. He'll ride with me again this next riding season but I'll more than likely have to help him in and out of the sidecar and that's quite alright.

Tom, that is good news about Archie.
All of our dogs have always been like family members, it is awful when they are sick.
Hope Archie continues to improve.

Thanks Gail. He now has an appointment for next Tuesday to see if Hydro Therapy will help. Or acupuncture. The Dr. he'll see is licensed in both.

Archie is back maybe 80% or so. Walks pretty wobbly but his attitude is very good. He's going through acupuncture and hydro therapy. Tomorrow will the the third treatment on a six week program. We go in once a week. The hydro therapy is a bit of a challenge for him but he finds the acupuncture so relaxing he falls asleep every time. The vet said not all her patients are so relaxed with it but she wishes they were... He'll be riding with me come spring but I think we'll go back to the harness and restraints because of some slightly odd quirks he's picked up. He's ridden unrestrained for a long time and maybe the time will come when he will again but for now, we'll stay safe... Also I'll most likely have to help him in and out of the sidecar. That's quite alright.

Tom, that are good news.
Negra too recovered well, only thing she will not play as much as before. It is like the poisoning made her become old in an instant. now she even gets a white beard with only 6 years..
Best wishes for the time when the skunks will come out again.
Sven

Thanks for the good wishes Sven. I hate to think about skunks but at least with the FCE concerns, Archie is sticking closer to the front door. And like your pup, he's gotten noticeably more gray in the short time since he was stricken. He did get a new couch out of the skunk incident though. And I'm sure if it wasn't for the skunks we'd have more mice around. I suppose when the skunks show up again the porcupines will as well....
