i am the second owner, originally purchased through Butler and Smith order # 1045 July 1972, and picked up in Munich Germany. I purchased it from the estate of the original owner. The sidecar was added at a later date. Thr last long ride was in 2015, when the 85 year old widow drove it from Chicago to a rally in Montana and back.

I have taken more pictures of the Steib TR 500, there are no labels on the tub. It is all steel, looks like a Steib, rides like a Steib, smells like a Steib, so it must be one. I will separate the bike and tub, or negotiate the price. Here are some more pictures.
