If the info I got today is right the Smoketree is now full for the weekend. I had very good luck renting a "cabin" from the folks at

They have rental cabins [really vacation houses] from 1 bedroom/1 bath on up to 4 bedroom/4 baths and they still have availability. Prices are higher than the motel but you get a lot more space, you can comfortably double up with another person or couple [separate bedrooms and baths] and the cabins are in a development that is about a mile and a half from the campground. If you share one of the larger places it is actually substantially less than the motel.

I found a room at the High Country Inn (outskirt of Boone?). I hope it's OK. It should be no more than 6-8 miles from our rally grounds.
