Got a call today looking for some info on the upper shock mount. The owner sheared the upper bolt or stud that connects the top of the shock to the frame.

The question is how can this be fixed? Was it a bolt or a stud? I have had a couple of Terraplane's in the past but none I can look at now. He is a couple hundred miles away from me, does not have the internet, and is looking for some insight. He mentioned that it looks like the bolt or stud threads into the roll bar.

Thanks

I do not have the answer at this time, however as I still have some NOS roll bar assemblies stored at home, I will take a look tonight.
BTW, I also own all of the NOS vetter mounts, $150 each, missing bolts, instructions and looking like they were stored in barn for many years.

The shock threads into a lug on the side of the frame. It has what looks like 1/2 20tpi threads. We do have one NOS unit in stock $75. This is most likely the last one in the world.

Is the that frame part that the lug is on the roll bar portion?

Thanks

Yes it is. I would make sure that you can remove it. Never had one apart so I do not know how much work it is to remove. It is a bolt in part.

I have had one apart. From what I remember the top half of the body has to be separated from the bottom half. Trim strip that goes around the center has to come off and all the rivets drilled out.

His thought was to try and extract what was left of the bolt but wanted to know what he was dealing with.

Thanks for the info Jay.
