All:

Looking for windshield options for my V700. I'd like to go to a dark tint instead of the stocker. Anyone have an experience fabbing windshields for this model. It doesn't look toooooo hard....

So far sales@bikescreen.com shows lousy customer service. I've emailed them twice about a Velorex 700 shield with zero response to date.

I have an older Velorex 700 that I bought with a broken windshield, so I made a replacement myself. I used 1/4" lexan (I use this as machine guards) and bent it with a heater we have. It came out pretty good, the dog likes it, although I still have to remount the trim so I can put the cover on it. I can send you a picture of it if interested.
As an fyi, it's mounted to a '78 CB750F.
Good luck with your ride

Ray,
What temperature did you use to bend Lexan? I over heated some and it bubbled up.

We have a heater made to bend lexan, and it's doesn't have a temp on it. I keep flipping the piece until it gets soft enought to bend. For small pieces we've used a heat gun, just keep it moving so it doesn't bubble.

1/8" is much easier to work with and has been used on many windshields with very good results.

Sounds great. Can you send me a pic? (cwbastian @ hotmail.com). I'd really like a dark tinted screen and Velorex only offers clear.

BTW, Gustafsson Plastics officially sucks. Three emails to their website and not a single reply. That's pathetic.
