Ural wheel hop
I have a 2006 Ural Gear-up and love it so far! One problem I'm noticing is a front wheel "hop" when braking hard with the front disk brake. This hop can be controled by adjusting the amount of front brake applied when stopping. But during a "panic" stop (happens alot in new jersey) it's very evident. The front tire seems only slightly (1/8th inch) out of round. This amount has no effect on other bikes (solo) I own. Could the Leading link front end have something to do with this problem?
Maybe you have a warpped front brake rotor.

Dave,
Think I found the problem. I noticed alot of play in the fork neck when I jacked the front end off the ground for the first time. I'm waiting for the maintenance CD to come n the mail before I start tearing the front apart!!

LL front ends have a tendency to raise the front end when braking causing the front end weight to unload. In a panic stop this tendency could be accelerated enough to cause this phenomenon.
Just a thought.

I just went through the very same thing, it was the rotor. I fooled around with the steering and wheel bearing for months then changed the rotor and now OK. Warranty covered it, the dealer had a pile of warped rotors he had replaced.
