Hi, before I get into a lot of changing things, can anyone suggest why the tire is wearing off on the inside of the Champion Escort mounted to a 1989 GL1500? The tire has been on there for the last two years including a trip to Alaska and back. I have tried to get the toe-in down as much as possible. It was about 1/4 inch. Is that why it seems to wander a bit? I have the modified forks so it is easily controlled.

Thanks in advance for any help.

If the sidecar wheel is not vertical to the road surface this type of wear can occur with good alignment.
Check the tread wear pattern and if it shows scrubbing from left to right you may need more toe-in.

Yes, Lonnie it is scrubbing from left to right. Not a lot but when you run your hand over it you can notice it. The very inside strip of tread is worn off a lot. I will get out the straight edges and check toe-in again. The wheel does camber in a little at the top, a result of a 155x13 tire instead of the 145x13. I tried to raise the whole left side to compensate but probably didn't get it up enough.
Thanks a lot Lonnie for the info.
