Need help guys. I have my new triple tree, I need advise on how to remove the steering stem from the bottom clamp. A 2 ton press would not budge it ! Anyone know the secret ?
This is for a 2007 Kawasaki VN2000.

Thanks

We use either our 20 ton or 50 ton press with out any problems.

Thanks Jay, so do I need to remove the bearing first or will it press off at the same time/ and I asume I press the stem down and out through the bottom.
I think I'll replace all bearings and seals while it's apart.

Press the bearing at the same time, by doing this if you want to use the bearing again you can. When you press it back on you will be pressing against the inner race on the bearing.

I would think that that the stem would have a flange to stop the it from going too deep into the tree, so one should press out from the bottom of lower tree.
