Getting ready to do spline lubes on recently purchased BMW K 1100LT with and EML sub frame and front suspension, wheels etc.
It looks to me that the front suspension will need to be removed to allow the EML sub frame to drop down so that
The trans can be pulled aft.
Anyone have experience with this bike / hack etc ? I have done several previous K model BMW splines before, but never one with a sidecar.
Thanks

Unfortunately, you have properly assessed the situation. It's a BIG job.

I was hoping that basically needing to disassemble would not be the case. However, I do have winter months ahead to do the job so it should be road ready by spring.
Thanks to Mark at Fla. Sidecars the rebuild of the Calif sidecar has been easy. He has the parts and knowledge for my sidecar. Now if the BMW work goes as well it might be fun.
Thanks for confirming my guesstimate of what would be required to do the splines and replace the seals.

Go to the above album and there will be 2 pictures. The blue3 green strap has pulled genteelly on the sub-frame enough so the tranny can be removed over the sub-frame.
The sub frame is free of the bike except for the head bearing. There is a narrative on file in the eml lounge but right now I can't find it
