It's common for the rear tire to get hot with a sidecar attached, they wear fast because they scrub going down the road, it's also one reason people go to a car tire on the rear of the tug and sidecar.

Hot road? The whether might be cold ,but with sun the road may become very hot. In Death Valley my new tire lost its thread within 2 days! / too less airpressure? / too weak tire walls? something going on with break or bearings? / Too much rubbing because of too far geometrie adjustments? /Gravel on the road and a strong gas hand?//// There are many factors that cause heat and not necesarily something must be bad. It's anyhow a good practice to check the bike's components frecuently.Temperature and sound are two of the good and early indicators for something going wrong or starting to wear out. Just check frecuently and get a feeling whats right and as soon something isn't as in other similar occasions You notice fast when something goes wrong. But be carefull breaks become very hot! On fathers day suddenly I hadn't any brake because some disolved water in the brake liquid boiled! (I live in the tropics and rainy season is tough) (Obviously engine and exaust pipes get damn hot too,> All my shoes are melt.) Hope You enjoy your bike.Sven Peter Pan
