After about 15,000 I am getting a loud clunk from the steering head on my '96 HD Nostalgia with a Liberty side car ....it has the Liberty raked triple trees
I took it in for service and they adjusted the steering head and I still have the clunk when i hit a bump etc .. HD service manger says it is caused by the raked trees ...he thinks ...
any suggestion on how to repair or upgrade ??
the Liberty side car was put on new by AD Farrow HD in Columbus OH -- it was the owners personal bike until he retired ... and was babied & properly maintianed all it's life .. it handles

it is one great handling rig .. only had it now for about a year now .. and thanks to this forum it has been a rather easy transition to riding a hack ... my dog loves it .. and even strange good looking women come up and ask for a ride ...

I picked up a clunk on my RK rig that also had Pete's raked trees.
Found out it was a front sidecar mount heim joint that had developed some slack. It wasn't there constantly just once in a while. Not a safety issue, just a clunk.
