I've noticed that the little vespa scooters with sidecars have a 4 point (at least) conection with one of them being some kind of HUGE flange affair looking like a old steam fitting, yet most motorcycle have 4 or less with just clevis style conections. what's with the over done scooter under done bikes?
I like the idea of a flange, expecially since I have a csc fs1 with the marble size ball and collet.
just curious

If you are referring to the Cozy flange fitting, that is to allow washers to be inserted between the plates to align the car. They use the conventional Velorex fittings for motorcycle installations with 4 clevis and eye connections.
Most smaller scooters have the sidecar attached through a sheet metal floor panel. Not nearly as solid a mounting as the 4 point bike mount system.
Most larger scooters (400cc up) use a motorcycle type mounting.
