I guess this question is for Lonnie Cook, but anyone else can add there 2 cents.

Lonnie I have a 08 H-D Cross Bones, with Motorvation Sidecar, and a springer front end. You stated in a forum that you could extend the rockers and get less trail (= better steering). My question is, how much should I extend them: I've been told an inch will do fine. Some guy did this (Bueller) in the ADVrider Forum. Any guessatamets.

here is rake & trail explained with some number ranges. you should be able to plug in a couple different rocker postions and get the trail you are looking for based on your bikes rake and stearing angles

That info is great for solo bikes but sidecars and trikes need less trail for easy steering.
With the difference in springer front ends and bike neck rakes there is no "one size fits all" panacea.
One can check with others who have successfully modified a similar front end and go from there.
