Riding in snow and ice
I would be glad to have somewhere to go, also. I'm just over the
Montana line about 90 miles from Sandpoint.
Tom, I went through Washtucna a while back and wondered where you
live. Was in the Subaru that trip.

All you guys need is someone to step up and set a place and a date. START SMALL. Get it posted here and in The Sidecarist. You might be surprised at the number of sidecrs in the area. It is about time there were more things for sidecarists. Most important have fun and just let things happen.

maybe we otta have a bash in Idaho
Great idea. The hardest part would be deciding on which of all the excellent possible destinations in Idaho to pick. The UMCI has fairly regular rallies at Three Rivers and Cascade. And the year the international was right there at Boise was a super rally.
What is UMCI, Tom?
United Motorcycle Club International. A break away from Retreads a number of years ago when someone with a profit motive wanted to change the way Retreads worked. A good laid back bunch. It's an 'over 40' group that doesn't care what you ride. www.umci.org if I remember right. Haven't been on the web site for a long time.
Washtucna,
Stayed there when we painted the Railroad bridge over the Snake river at Lyons Ferry. Once billed as the longest, highest railroad bridge in the world. It was black graphite and oil finish since 1914. We painted it bright silver in '73 & '74. I was on a Norton 750 Combat Commando that trip.
Washtucna is the only town I've stayed in where the city park had a sign that read: "Look out for Rattlesnakes".
They also had a High School football team with only 11 players (no spares) that won the Washington State single A championship title at least once.
Lonnie
Ahhh.... scenic Washtucna! If you blink you miss it. The little drive in is closed now. Or was the last time I was through there. As far as the sports go, they're combined with LaCross now and play B-8 (eight man football) Four times state champs and they're proud of it. Reardan just won their third state championship in four years in B-11 football and they're cross country state champs. Now, armed with that information, you're ready to try out for Jeopardy! Oh yeah, Lyons Ferry State park is now closed but your bridge is still there Lonnie. Not sure if it's been painted since you did it... That was a nice park except for the goose crap. And I know of another place with rattle snake warning signs. The golf course at Sun Lakes State park. OK, I quit now.
