I have a California sidecar which is mounted on a 2003 HD ultra classic.

Recently the shock which is operated by the electric lean broke and I am getting a replacement.

I was wondering if any body had experience removing the side car chassis from the frame for ease of replacing the shock.

The shop I am considering taking it to says it's about a day job.

I have a friend who is very mechanically adept and I was wondering if it was something he and I could do???

I could be wrong, but if memory serves, there are only about four bolts holding the body on to the frame, and of course the wiring for the lights. Should be rather straightforward.

Thanks NYB I was premature in asking as when I checked I found your response correct.

Now I have a question about replacement of the shock used with the electric lean.

Have you had any experience with it's replacement?
