rear wheel dia
g'day guys
have a 94 goldwing with a double sidecar, I've been told I should look for a smaller dia rear wheel as it would be advantagous all round. Even on long trips. A 15 inch was suggested. what do you blokes think and do you have any idea where and at what price one might get such an item. Would it be worth it??
Am running a 16 at the moment with a car tyre, crossply, a radial would be nice.

What car tire are you use now?
Exculsior 5.25x16 thnk the dia is too big, 15 would be better Iam told.

It is the final tire diameter that counts and not the wheel size. It is true with a 15" wheel you do have a wide variety of tire sizes that can be had. Not sure about 16".
There's not much that can be used on a bike in the 16" range reason being is that when you go to the 50 and 55 series the tires are to wide to fit between the swing arm, BTDT with no luck, this was on a 1100T so maybe a GW has more clearance, only way to tell is to measure and then hit the tire store to find the right dia. that has the width that will fit. There are some tire sites that have a info page that you punch in the numbers and it gives you all the info, do a Google search to find them. I beleive most of the GW riders end up paying big bucks for a MFG rim using a GW hub.
