Hey guys! Ive finished my frame mods based on my 1500 miles of pretest on the prototype. I also added a custom tail light and painted it!

You can get the full story here:

or go to the updates to the prototype here:

Wow!
Great site.

Home made articulated rig. That's my dream...
My options are Honda CB750K or Yamaha XS750E + Velorex 562.
Do you have any advice about using double cradle framed motorcycles?

The basic design would be the same for the rig. Your bike/engine frame it would bolt to would need to be the strongest part of the design.

If you have the room I would make 2 wide cross cradle clamping type bars that would be the main fastening/connection to your bike. The sidecar arms would then bolt to a rigid-machined or fabbed part that fastens to those crossbar clamps ,either weleded or bolted securely.

Think of the crossbar clamps as the type of clamping mechanism that clamps dirtbike bars to the tripple clamps, i.e. machined with same radii as your cradle tubes but when pinched a gap exists such that when clamped, there is still a gap between flats of the clamping part.

Thank you.

It is still a dream to me at this stage but it's very nice to hear some one did it successfully. (Sorry, forgot to mention. It's very cool looking rig.)
