I have come to believe that the most important giudeline in mounting a sidecar to any tug is; the 2 lower clevises must aline so that they act like a hinge. Am I right or am I still so new to sidecars that I have not learned anything? Thanks for all/any replies silvergoldsmith.

You actually don't want anything moving like a hinge if it is a fixed rig. If you are implying that it will be easier to adjust lean and toe with the lower mounts equal distance from the ground when loaded, and equal distance from the centerline of the bike you are correct.

I would consider it more important to make all the angles between the upper and lower struts triangles. Try to avoid any parallel struts, upper or lower, and you will have a stronger rig.
