Can some one tell me a source for purchase of black plastic tubing or sleeving for the wiring used on many cycles and especially the HD and sidecar. I want to add some lights to the car and would like to keep it the same and water tight. I have checked the Lowes and the like of the world but no go. I have also checked electrical supply houses and have struck out. I would also like to know of a supplier for the water proof connectors used, they seem to be very reliable, just not obtainable. Thanks for your help.RND

Good old Radio Shack has either the splt sleeving or the heat shrink variety. As far as connectors, I use Scotch Locks and load them with di-electric grease. I believe Radio Shack also sells a grease filled push-to connect compression fitting similar to what telephone companies use.Our Lowes has the split loom sleeving. It's in the same aisle as the solder, twist connectors and multi-meters.If you use the split loom, after you get all the wires inside, wrap it with vynil electrical tape for that "factory" look.

Thanks, I hadn't thought about the shack. Do you have a source for vinyl tubing that is not the spilt type or the shrink type? The shrink tubing is hard to bend after you shrink it and it is prone to cracking if you don't shrink it.RND

Yes sir:

Lets see, you are in Austin. Nice town. Wife wants to retire there and we've been looking at ranches there. I need at least 500 acres.......daydreaming again. I have a couple hundred here and it's not enough.

Tractor Supply Co. TSC for short or any farm supply outlet will have vynil tubing in all diameters.

Interestingly, good old Lowes has that too. Even the nylon filament reinforced fuel line variety. Look in the aisle where the pool supplies are. They even have the really nifty bypass tubing cutters. I have a pair.

Thanks a bunch, by the way some good land can be bought just outside Austin about 70 miles north for about 1800 an acre. I have some under contract right now and sure hope it goes through. The prices just keep getting higher and at the rate this city and all the surrounding areas are growing anything within 25-40 miles is 5-7 thousand. Thanks again I'll look at tsc.RND

I've had good luck with British Wiring. They have a plastic/rubber sleeving in a variety of diameters cut to whatever length you might need. They're also a good source of wire in an array of colors.
