Just going over my new rig and see that the Champion Legend sub frame blocks off the oil filter fairly well. Been doing all sorts of Google searches for relocation kits and other suggestions to make oil change easier. Anyy suggestions?

I believe that Dauntless had done up a Drifter in the past. I used to want an 800 really badly before getting my Ural, and I believe it was him that I had spoken to about adding a hack to a Drifter. He may have some helpful tips. I spoke to several installers at the time, so I am guessing it was him. Good luck. The leader of the Drifter forum had added a sidecar area at their spite several years back. He added a hack to his Drifter, too. I forget the name, as it has been several years back. I lost my user id and password, so I have not been back to the Drifter site for quite some time. Great group of guys though.

I talked to Jay, at DMC (Formerly Dauntless). I also talked to champion and it seems the bar that blocks the filter can be unbolted and removed for oil change without removing the whole lower rear subframe.

I don't know if this will help, but specialty off road stores might have something that would work. My first rig had a 1974 Guzzi 850 Ambassador as the tug. For those of you who don't know Guzzi's, the oil filter was inside the bottom engine oil pan. You had to remove a bunch of allen screws (forget how many, but it was a pain) to remove the bottom engine oil pan and get access to the filter. There was a fitting you could buy that screwed into where the filter went with plumbing through the oil pan with a external oil line. At a specialty off road shop I found a external oil filter kit made for VW that used standard auto spin-on filters. I mounted the filter on the side of the bike. There was a chrome cover available, but all I did was paint each new filter black before installing it. The new filter was not only cheaper, but had a lot more filter material in it.
Anyway, this might give you an ideal of how to relocate the stock filter on your bike.
This also would make it very easy to add a oil cooler if needed, since you have external oil lines. The Guzzi didn't need a oil cooler.
