mounting a Harley sidecar to a new Harley FLH
lower rear mounting plate for a 2014 Harley roadking with Harley sidecar and a upper front mount clamp
I have a concern on the upper front. Motovation style frame clamps are no where near as strong as Harley ran, They do not spread the load out any where near enough. Our frame clamps spread the load a lot better and I still would not use one of our clamps as the upper front on a Harley sidecar. The Harley sidecar has no suspension! Most every other sidecar has two upper mounts, not Harley so all of the stresses are going to the one frame clamp! Long term this is not going to work out. Make up a bracket that attaches both down tubes as high up as you can get it. There is a lot of load that this mount must handle.

One other thing, The reason that there is a large hole in the end of the "Strut" on the sidecar side of the mount is that on the factory mount a solid round part fits into this hole. The bolt is only there to keep it from coming apart. It does not take the load as this is a lot of load for a 1/2 bolt in single shear.
