Ok, I'm slowly settling into tire selections for my rig - 1980 Honda CB900C + 1974 velorex 560.

hack takes a 100/90 18 - planning on getting a cheapo cheng shin, as I don't expect it to get much actual use & it's fairly straigtforward to replace.

MC rear is a 130/90 16, looking at the Avon Safety Mileage tire - a more square profile tire.

MC front is a 110/90 19, not sure what to get here. My choices seem to be

Dunlop D404
Bridgestone Spitfire S11
Metzeler ME 880 Marathon
IRC WF-920 Wild Flare
Pirelli MT66 - Route Cruiser
Avon Venom Bias Touring / Cruising AM41
Michelin Commander
Metzeler Lasertec
Dunlop F24
Continental Conti Blitz
Shinko 230 Tour Master
Continental Conti Milestone
Bridgestone Accolade
Kenda K657 Challenger
Cheng Shin Hi-Max C906
Cheng Shin Marquis C833
Shinko 712
Kenda K673 Kruz

anyone have any recommendations?

The Dunlop D404 is supposed to be the replacement for the old Elite-II tires that worked so well for sidecar duty.

I just put a set front/rear on my rig, but that was less than 300 miles ago, so I cannot report on wear yet. However, they seem to grip just fine, and the price is right...

YMMV - and probably will... 😉

I just put a Metzler Block K 4.0 x 18 on my Velorex 560. It's a very squarish tire that rides much smoother than the 3.25 x 18 Mita I had on it.
I'm riding the rig now longer before feeling fatiqued.
On the bike, a '74 Moto Guzzi Eldorado, I have Metzeler LaserTecs-
a 100/90 x 18 on the front and a 4.0 x 18 on the rear.
Metzelers are more expensive but I want quality tires under me.
