Leveling Sidecar Frame
I understand sidecar wheel lead, sidecar toe-in, motorcycle lean-out.
I been reading (maybe a bad thing) about the frame setup of the
sidecar.
Should the front of the sidecar frame be slightly higher than rear?
Should the sidecar wheel side of the frame be 1.5" higher?
Is there one article that discusses all the different setup adjustments
(measurements, what they do & don't do) for sidecars?
5600 miles since Jul 24th and want to understand more
These and/or similar issues are addressed in one of Hals books available at this site. The physics of sidecar/cycle combos are pretty well massaged.
1- Sidecar frame higher in front? If you wish. Level looks better usually.
2- Wheel side of frame 1.5" higher? No, but some sidecar MFGRs have suggested 1/2" higher. (not carved in stone)
3- Is there one article.. etc? Nope, but the books cover most of them
