Is the lead of the sidecar tire the same on a leaner sidecar?
Topic starter
Thinking of building one where only the bike leans. Sidecar stays upright.
Will ten inches of lead work or are they different?

Different steering geometry between a rigid car and a leaner. Some experimenting may be in order for optimum handling and tire wear. Bike frame to sidecar attachment attitude and positioning will come into play.

I used something like that (several inches) with my previous rig (XS750+Velorex562+home-built subframe) and I didn't have a problem. I didn't try other numbers so I cannot tell the effects though.
I am on to a new rig (GL1100+home built frame+Velorex562 body). It's a full unison leaner (sidecar leans also). Apparently zero lead is ideal for that configuration.
