High speed Bounce ??
OK hello Y'all ,I just added a California sidecar to my triumph Rocket 3. By a professional. I do have a car tire on bike and have had it on for over a year with out the Chair , with no issues. Now with chair installed at 65---70 mph with wife in chair when I hit a splice in Pavement (where two sections are joined together) it seems to want to bounce. It doesn't seem like a front end wobble to me , but hope to have someone video so other and I can see what it really doing..
I am going to try adding a bit of tire pressure to the car tire as I am running only 32 lbs at present . Please any suggestions would be welcomed .
You did not say which California sidecar you added. If it is a torsion bar suspension sidecar then this is not all that uncommon as the sidecar has poor at best suspension. You may find that lowering the tire pressure on the sidecar helps. Also make sure that the sidecar is mounted firmly, any play in the mounts can cause you problems. Just because the sidecar was installed by a "professional" does not mean it was done properly. There are many so called "professionals" around that are doing poor at best mountings.
BTW, we do make a sub frame for your bike as well as triple tree's to lower the steering effort with the sidecar, we would need to know if it is a rocket 3 or a rocket 3 touring as they have different front ends.

I run about 28psi with the car tire in the rear. Auto tires are designed to carry a lot more weight than cycle tires. 32psi may not give the tire enough flex for a smooth ride.

Thanks will try both ways up and down I guess ..and try to find the sweet spot . But had no problem for the last year before the chair was added !!! Thanks all I will keep trying !!!
Jay its a friendship 2. and has a shock ...
OK , well after listening to a lot of folks I checked my tire pressure on bike and chair. The Bike rear was at 49 psi ,I dropped it to 32, and chair was 38 I dropped it to 18 . then I unhooked the stabilizer. WOW what a difference steering is a lot easier and took out on highway and seemed like it all good , Will be going on a longer ride tomorrow to check out for sure , wife said she could notice big difference in chair for sure. Oh yea NO slow speed wobble without stabilizer.. Ill try to figure how to post pics later !! THANKS for the help.....
