Heritage Softail Sidecar
Does anyone have a Harley Sidecar on their Heritage Softail. If so what mounting brackets did you use and does it work well? Any information would be greatly appreciated!
hi, I've installed a 1997 Harley sidecar on my 2002 Heritage. First thing is there ie quite a bit of fabrication to do. All new mounts must be made plus I made a fourth mount for good measure. The front two frame tubes on the hack need to be heated and bent just right. And to tell you the truth, while the bike and hack look good together if I was to do it again I would put a hack on with suspension. Highways are ok but back roads can be pretty bumpy. Just my two cents.
I just installed a Ranger (Texas Sidecar) on a 2005 Softail. All attaching hardware installed very easily. (My first time with a sidecar installation. My only bump in the road was figuring out a way to accurately measure lean out...but did a search on the forum and found a suggestion to use a magnetic angle finder (attach to brake rotor)...made the adjustment very easy....
Will be installing windshield after we get the body color matched
I installed my first sidecar about 8 months ago on my shovelhead. It took a bit of ajusting but I finaly got it to ride pretty good but a little hard to steer. then my friend gave me a racked tripple tree for my birthday, and man what a diffrence 5 degreese makes in steering it. It's like power steering. I would definatly do this right away. I think setting it up would be easyer. I almost didn't like the sidecar before.
