I have a 1980 HD sidecar in need of a windshield. I see plenty of later model windshields for sale but not the early one. Mine has 5 holes in the body to mount the windshield. I think the later windshields have 7 mounting holes. Anyone know of a supply of the early windshields. I also need the metal trim piece and gasket.

Has any of you mounted a later windshield to an early sidecar.

i'm getting ready to tackle this myself. my old one broke in a crash, so i have the metal piece .i think i will need to do some trimming and drilling to get a good angle, but i do think its workable. I ordered the oldest new one i could get.

jabud, please let us know how it turns out and what you did to make it work. Maybe a pic or two.

I made a windshield for a 1982 HD TLE sidecar out of 1/8" clear Polycarbonate sheet that I got at a plastics store. It worked fairly well but I had to be careful not to scratch it.

jabud, did you get your new windshield mounted yet? How did it turn out? Did you redrill the shield to match the earlier pattern?

We just got the mount rebuilt.
We should be getting the windshield on in a few days.

Cee Bailey can make a windshield for your early ride. $180. Nice unit; factory height, smoked. 5-hole mount. Tell 'em it is the same as they made for Duane in July. If they don't remember, post here and I can take my old windshield off my '87b TLE down and they can use if for a buck. I'm about an hour away from their factory in Baldwin Park. They have ads on Ebay.
