I have been running a Velorex 562 on my '73 FLH for about 6 years. I recently purchased a '77 Harley car. It came with a rear mount, to attach to the rear peg mount on the frame. In 1973 the FLH didn't have peg mounts on the frame, the pegs mounted on the swing arm. I have purchased the rear mount clamps for my year bike (OEM 87083-87, 87074-73 and 87197-73) I can't find a diagram of how or where these mount. Does the clamp mount to the swing arm? Or does it mount to the frame? I would greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks

Ok, I have looked through all the treads on here. The rear mount attaches to the swing arm. Can anyone tell me if, #1 I need to wrap the swingarm in some sort of rubber, before I install the Mount? #2 Does the large hole for the swing arm clamp mount on the upper or the lower side of the swing arm?

Thanks,

Gary

Going by memory, the mount hole should point down below the swing arm to attach the rear sidecar mount. No you do not wrap the swing arm in rubber but I remember having to relocate the rear brake line hose

The mount on the swing arm is not compatable with the '77 HD sidecar frame. It will be too far to the rear to match up. When the mount was moved to the frame mounted passenger peg mount, HD cut the rear extention off of the sc frame that went to the swing arm mount. I have a '72 FLH with an '80 CLE HD sidecar. I welded a passenger peg mount block to the frame of my bike.

The swing arm mount clamps behind where the right shock bolts to the swing arm. With the sc next to the bike it shound be obvious that rear mount on the sc frame is too far forward to work.

Thanks George. I did alot of measuring and realized it wouldn't work. As a matter of fact, I just got done about an hour ago, welding a peg mount to the frame. Tomorrow I will mount the car to the bike.
Thanks again.
