Harley sidecar on a wing ?
Has anyone installed one on an 1800? Any idea what a mount kit would cost? Would it be too retro looking ? Black car black wing.
The Harley sidecar runs a 3 point mount that does not allow for adjustment for other bikes, Most bikes run a 4 point mount. Harley never got around to adding suspention to any of thier sidecars while pretty much every other sidecar company since before WW2 had suspension so even if you were to get it on the bike, the ride is not as it could be. On your GL1800 as your bike is much longer then most other bikes many sidecars require a longer frame for use on the GL1500, Valkyrie or GL1800. The GL1800 must have a very well designed sub frame system for use with its alloy frame as the frame has some known failure points, We offer such a sub frame.

There is a nice harley sidecar available locally so I had to consider it, I am learning slowly, thanks a Lot Jay for saving me from going in the wrong direction!!! My wing is an 03 so it is in the middle of the potential frame issues etc. may have to come up with another plan. I appreciate the fine advise .
No problem with your bike being an 03, No issues at all with any year GL1800 with out mounting system.

Hello Yamak, if you don't mind my asking where is the Harley sidecar for sale that you were considering? Thanks, Dave
The harley sidecar is in wasilla, Alaska, on Craig's list.
Thanks, a little too far away for me. I'm in Detroit.

Hey Dave, there is a Harly sidecar on CraigsList GrandRapids. Not mine or anyone I know. Saw the ad earlier today.

Thanks OldSchool, I did see that one before in my search. I have a 2000 FLHTP, I think that one is too old to easily fit my bike.
Davet. If you need someone to look at that Harley sidecar I'm in Grand Rapids. I could take pics and send them to you.
Thanks Barry, if its a 1961 frame I think it will be too difficult to adapt to my bike. It doesn't have a steering damper bracket so I think it is an older frame. I'll call the guy for some more details and let you know. Thanks for the offer, Dave
The mounts do not match my 1990 model.
I'm in Ann Arbor, we should try to get together this year.
