I have an 08 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic, and if this has been beating to death I am sorry. But does anyone know of a rear tire conversion from bike tire to car tire?

thanks

I have done it non about 6 motorcycle wheels but they were all 15 inch wheels. I used Michlyn (I probably misspelled that) tires 135X15.

for flh

prior to 1960 something - 500- 16 or 5 x 16

prior to 2007 - 130 16
the 130 16 is a bit lower profile than the 5 x16 was - or thats the rumor - the coker 500r16 is a inch shorter overall than the 140 and its the width of the 130.

2007 and 2008 - 140 16

now they are 180 16

other models have 17 or 18 rear rims

road kings still have 130 16 fronts the rest now have 17 or 18 fronts

i have a 15" rear on it now - for 2006 and back the 145r15 is the biggest that would fit - however if the 500r16 will FIT on a stock rim then its a no brainer to use them... however the tires are listed for a 4" rim so it may prove a requirement to get a 3.5 x 16 rim or 4.25 x 16 rim [the two sizes i know can be had with 40 holes]

ill know in a couple months, if they work ill be selling my 15

close to 140/90-16.
I do use bias ply 500/525-16 from coker on my Goldwing CL1500/Frendship III for almost 3000 miles now. No changes to the wheel. Do use inner tube. Outside dia. of this tire just 1/4" biger then 160/80-16 OEM. See no difference in the ride.

I hope the new Coker tire will work and will stay tuned to see if anyone has good results with it. My biggest concern is the stock rim, and having it mounted, when I received the bike it had the wire wheels, I switched to mags to be able to run tubeless tires. Have made my mind up to keep this bike as strictly a sidecar rig. Next year the hunt will start for another bike to be just a two wheel only, lol. I haven't ridden on two wheels since I added the hack, hope I haven't forgotten how to ride......lol. thanks to all for the great information.

Lance,
Just remember to put your foot down when you stop and don't forget the kickstand.

I run a BFG radial T/A 155/60/15 on my Suzuki Marauder,..and take my car off frequently,..( quick release) lean angles take a little to get used to,soft air pressures are critical and NOT recommended for the rookie,..however,..look at an old Indian or a Panhead and the rubber profile matches well,..at 20 000 miles,..mine still looks new for $59.00 I'm very pleased,..good luck, crawf,
