has anybody seen any data on sidecars for 09 harley? they are producing a trike - ive looked at the new bikes and none of the mounts will work on a 09. have they replaced sidecars with the new trike?

the trike has a raked tree, has reverse, has a parking brake.

hmmmm

The '09 Tri Glide is a joint effort with Leyman Trikes.
Harley will provide the motorcycles and Leyman will provide their conversion parts,a reverse gear, labor and paint. The end result is a trike conversion with the factory warranty and the destruction of a perfectly good Electra Glide.

Hi;Kind of interesting that they did this.I test rode it at Sturgis and it rode fine. Not being used to the reworked fork it felt little squirlly at first but would get used to that in a hurry as sure nice not to have to manhandle it on curves like my stock wing set up which reminds me to call my Honda dealer they tellme he works on trikes and can install the new fork set-up!Anyway what I found interesting is the price approx.$30K other trikes have been $40K including the Lyaman HD I tried out at the factory in Spearfish last year!So by using only the necessary parts from HD they have cut the price about $10K so what will this do to the other outfits pricing would seem they would have to remain competetive and lower there prices Ha!Ha!Then of course the usual HD run around my local dealer seems tothink there willbe very few avaiable says they probably won't build many of them!mean lot of additional costs added ifyou want one??

The parking brake addition is for international sales purposes. They are required to pass some of the Euro Union and Oz licensing requirements for three wheelers. Sidecar rigs must also have this parking brake to get registered in some countries.
I think the in the box reverse is also a British patent.

Picked up a brochure on the HD trike at DHD. Noticed that they referred to the servi-car as its predeccesor thus tying it to their past.
