H D sidecar wobble
Is anyone out there having trouble with the stock damper that HD supplies. I got a wobble at about 60 mph.
How old is it? They do wear out.
The same damper is used to control wobble on the Volkswagon Beetles two front wheels and they are much heavier rigs.
Too much resistance is the usual problem with the HD dampers.
Wheel wobble can also be caused by worn swingarm bearings, out of balance wheels, cupped tires and many other sources.

The damper lowers the helping to get rid of or control tremble in the top end due to greater way in most sidecar areas that do not have lowered way modifications.
With the 5% several plant alteration on your Harley, the helping damper can be scrapped and a brilliant building lumination or horn can be linked on the other variety so it doesn't look like something is dropping.
Have the steering head bearings been tightened or greased? Its part of the 10k service.

You can cure that without a new damper if you want to take a little time to do it. You will need to correct the toe in setting and put an extra five pounds or so of torque on the steering head bearings. Dampers are often used to cover up the problem without spending time to solve it. Of course you can go to JC Whitney and buy a replacement VW damper cheap or contact DMC and get one there. Barry
Same as the above posts suggestions but on the last couple of Harley cars I've installed, i've noticed the hole in the damper end that mounts to the j-bar is not the right size for the supplied bolts. Standard bolt, metric hole equals slop! Check the hardware and make sure, just a small amount of play here will equal a reasonable amount of bar movement. Always check the simple things first.

Since the HOGs are half metric and half SAE these days you'd think they could match components better. Especially when they're selling you a $20.+ VW damper for over a hundred bucks.
